Why we decide to become a chocolatier

Hi! We are algorocks from Indonesia. As citizens in a country where English is considered a foreign language, we have difficulties learning English. Especially grammar. It turns out we are not alone; 750 million people are learning English as a foreign language, and 350 people are learning English as a second language. 

With this massive number of potential players, there should be numerous exciting, serious games that can help us learn, right? The answer is yes and no. Yes, there are many serious games, but it's usually too simplistic, and their target market is usually children (we adults want to play too!). The second problem is that it's usually chocolate-covered broccoli kind of a game. Suppose we assume education as broccoli and video game as chocolate. In that case, most of the serious games right now are like chocolate-covered-broccoli. They may have the health benefit of broccoli, but they certainly are not appetizing. 

Grammarian Ltd is our attempt to make a new kind of chocolate treat with all the benefits of broccoli. We want the player to feel the enjoyment of the game, managing their money/mood/stamina, and at the same time learn grammar. 

Do we succeed? Maybe. We feel that it kinda does. But it's probably because of our bias as the game developer. So if you don't mind, please download the game and let us know what you think in a private message or forum post. Thank you!
